Commemorative Brands, Inc. Code of Conduct

Commemorative Brands, Inc, (CBI) supplies product to Collegiate Institutions under the terms of a licensing agreement with the Collegiate Licensing Company, LLC (CLC).  This agreement directs Commemorative Brands, Inc. to comply with principles laid out in the FLA Labor Code of Conduct as well as various additional requirements as directed by individual member institutions.

As a Supplier to Commemorative Brands, Inc., we ask that your company take the appropriate steps to comply with these principles, which are embodied in the CBI’s own Labor Code of Conduct, and which are listed below:

Forced Labor: There will be no use of forced labor, whether in the form of prison labor, indentured labor, bonded labor or otherwise to produce products at Commemorative Brands Inc. Additionally, Commemorative Brands Inc. shall not purchase materials from suppliers who use forced labor. 

Child Labor: No person shall be employed under the age of 16 or under the age for completion of compulsory education, whichever is higher. 

Harassment or Abuse: Every employee will be treated with respect and dignity. No employee will be subject to any physical, sexual, psychological, or verbal harassment or abuse.

Nondiscrimination: No employee shall be subject to any discrimination in employment, including hiring, compensation, advancement discipline, termination, or retirement, on the basis of gender, race, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, political opinion, social group, or ethnic origin and will be hired and retained based solely on their ability to perform the essential job functions.

Health, Safety, and Environment: Provide a safe and healthy work environment to prevent accidents and injury to health arising out of, linked with, or occurring in the course of work of the operation of facilities.

Commemorative Brands Inc. is concerned for the environment and will adhere to all local and national laws regarding the protection and preservation of the environment.  Additionally, the Company will take responsible measures to mitigate negative impacts that the workplace has on the environment.

Women’s Rights: Female workers shall have the same work opportunities as men, without arbitrary restriction on the types of jobs or special limits on hours of work. Criteria related to marital or reproductive status shall not be used as a condition of employment. New mothers shall be entitled to leaves of absence for childbirth and recovery from childbirth.

Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining: Recognize and respect employee’s rights to freedom of association and collective bargaining.

Compensation: Recognize that wages are essential to meeting employee needs. You will, as a base, pay employees at least the minimum wage required by local law or the prevailing industry wage, whichever is higher, and we will provide all legally mandated fringe benefits.

Hours of Work: Employees will not exceed regular and overtime hours allowed by the law of the country where the workers are employed. The regular work week shall not exceed 48 hours. Employees will be allowed to have at least twenty-four (24) consecutive hours of rest every seven-day period. You shall not request overtime on a regular basis and shall compensate all overtime work at a premium rate. All overtime shall be consensual. Other than in exceptional circumstances, no employee will be required to work more than 60 hours a week.

Commemorative Brands, Inc. may perform audits of its Suppliers from time to time to ensure compliance with these requirements.
